Before we were forced to close due to the corona-virus lock-down, we were lucky enough to have some of the highest level athletes the midlands have to offer come down and teach classes for us here at the Immortal Combat Academy.
First we had pro-MMA Fighter Joffie Houlton from SBG Manchester, fresh off of competing for Bellator, who taught some of the back control principles he has used throughout his burgeoning MMA Career.
Next up was Cage Warriors veteran and BJJ brown belt Sam “Urai” Creasey, Sam has a wealth of experience having trained in the US and Brazil on his way to fifteen professional fights and holding multiple belts across his amateur and pro career. Sam provided us with great insight into wrestling in MMA, and how the cage changes the game.
We also have been lucky enough to have had multiple visits from head coach of NJB Muay Thai, Nathan Bendon. Nathan is our own head coach Reiss’ Thai coach and was formerly number 1 ranked Muay Thai fighter in the UK and a professional boxer.
To be the best, you have to train with the best, and as we continue our mission to provide the highest level of martial arts instruction available in the Tamworth area, we plan on getting many more guest instructors in over the coming months.
